West Hants RCMP is investigating after a woman was assaulted by an unknown man near Lakelands on Sept. 4.
At around 1:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of an assault. They learned a woman was driving along Highway 1 near the intersection with Coles Road when she was flagged down by a man standing near a car that was pulled over with its four-way flashers on.
The RCMP said in a Sept. 4 news release the woman stopped her vehicle and got out to assist the man, but he shoved her to the ground.
“The victim was able to defend herself, return to her vehicle, and drive away,” the release said. “She did not report physical injuries.”
The man’s car is described as a dark small sedan or coupe, possibly a Honda Civic or similar vehicle.
The man is described as in his 40s, white, and about 5-foot-8, with dark facial hair. He was wearing all black clothes.
Investigators are appealing to anyone who may have seen a vehicle or a person matching the descriptions.
