Huge plumes of thick black smoke coming from a fire in Barnsley is reportedly spotted as far as Leeds this evening.
On social media, residents across South Yorkshire said they could see the flames or the smoke from the motorway.
One resident said they can smell it from Monkbretton while a second said their garden is “covered in black soot” in Cudworth.
Others said it could be seen from Greasbrough and even from the A65 in Leeds.
“It’s definitelt a bad one, (you) can see how bad it is in Royston. You can see the flames as well as smoke”, said one.
