First Phaedra and CT hard launch, and now this. Rob Rausch and Maura Higgins are going to be spending some more quality time together, as they co-host Peacock’s Get Me Out of Here. News of the reality reboot first broke in March on Vulture’s Buffering newsletter. The show is a riff on the U.K. mainstay, I’m a Celebrity …Get Me Out of Here! The big difference is that each fame-o will be paired with a non-famous friend or family member. “But here, the celebrities don’t call the shots – instead, they must partner up, taking the lead or deferring to their bestie, all while the treacherous environment takes its toll,” the press release from Peacock reads. So reality TV with a dash of Send Help. Fun!

The TV gods have tried to make I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! work in America before. The first U.S. iteration took place in 2003, when ABC saw Melissa Rivers face off against Downtown Julie Brown. Then in 2009, NBC tried it again with contestants like L.A. mayoral race loser Spencer Pratt and American Idol’s Sanjaya fighting for audience approval. With everyone wanting on The Traitors, it seems possible the caliber of celeb Get Me Out of Here can pull will be a little tonier. The show will hit the streamer in 2027.
